Vinyl

Flooring Innovations have been in the Vinyl and Resilient Flooring industry for over 35 years combining experience with leading edge tecniques and a reputable list of suppliers such as Armstrong, Amtico & Karndean to name just a few.

Vinyl Floor Coverings
Over 5 000 000 square metres of vinyl floor coverings are laid in Australia each year. PVC is the most common material used for resilient sheet and tile flooring.

Vinyl flooring is particularly suited to heavily-used surfaces. Hospitals, sporting clubs and commercial kitchens value the resilient, slip resistant and hygienic flooring. Both commercial and domestic users find vinyl flooring hardwearing, warm underfoot, cost-effective and easy to clean because of its pore-free surface.

Seams in vinyl flooring can be heat welded where joins are fused by heating PVC tape across the seam. Heat sealed seams are more water-resistant and hygienic than cold joined seams. The technique is ideal for floors where a high level of hygiene and safety is needed e.g. hospital operating theatres.

PVC floor coverings are available in a wide variety of colours and finishes. Designs suit educational, hospital, residential or commercial applications.

Resilient Vinyl Flooring
Resilient Sheet Vinyl flooring combines dramatic, authentic-looking visuals – like slate, ceramic and wood. Vinyl floors are low maintenance, hygienic and fire resistant.

Factors to consider before choosing laminate or resilient flooring:

  • Who are you appealing to? - Home owner or investor or commercial client
  • The frequency and type of traffic?
  • Type of room - living, bedroom, hallway, dining, showroom, retail interior, etc.
  • Size of the room - different width planks provide different room affects
  • Interior furniture - will decide colour and graining of the hardwood
    (or vice-versa)
  • Amount of natural sunlight - light or dark interior?
  • Acoustic requirements - for multi level residential buildings
  • Budget constraints
